  • Blackboard Collaborate outage (Monday, November 7, 2016)

    We are experiencing an outage of the Blackboard Collaborate building block. Collaborate and its associated web conferencing tools are not allowing students to join sessions. All other areas of Blackboard and its various tools do not appear to be affected by this problem and are functioning normally.
     
    What is the issue?
    Instructors are able to start a Collaborate session but students are unable to join the session.
     
    WebEx provides similar functionality and is unaffected at this time. For some cases WebEx may be a useable work around until a fix is found.

    Blackboard has been contacted and is aware of the problem.

  • Instructor Facing Blackboard Issue (Friday, October 28, 2016)

    It has come to our attention that in some gradebooks in Blackboard the start time for tests is not being displayed correctly. Submission time, and duration however are correct. Faculty examining the start and end times of individual test submissions should use the submission time and the duration as an indicator for when the test was started until further notice.

    We have contacted Blackboard corporate and they have indicated that this is a known bug with no solution at this time.

    We apologize for this inconvenience and will be implementing a solution as soon as one is feasible.
